Every piece is built on a solid 925 sterling silver base, then finished in the plating you choose.

  • Rhodium or platinum plated — a bright white finish from the platinum family, harder than silver and slower to tarnish.
  • 14K or 18K gold plated — a warm yellow finish over the same sterling silver core.

The plating is hypoallergenic and free from cadmium, lead and nickel, so it suits sensitive skin and ears. Some pieces are finished with an additional tarnish-resistant coating — where that applies it is listed in Product Details.

Plating is a surface finish, so like all plated jewelry it wears gradually with daily contact. These pieces are made for regular wear — not for swimming, showering or sleeping in.

Keeping the finish

  • Put your jewelry on last, after perfume, lotion and hairspray.
  • Remove it before swimming, showering, exercising or sleeping.
  • Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth after wearing. Never use silver dip or abrasive polish on a plated piece.
  • Store it dry and separately, ideally in the pouch or box it arrived in.
